I wanted to pass along my congratulations to Dr. Damiano. As an adult with CP, I agree that exercise, especially strength training is a vital component to living a full and productive life. I joined the United States Navy, keeping my CP a secret from government officials who would have kicked me out if they knew of my condition. In fact, I served honorably for 20 years, retiring in 2002 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, all the while hiding my CP symptoms. Staying active and fit were big reasons why I was able to do this.
