William B. Richards, Dr. Peter A. Rosenbaum, who is also the new Chair of the CPIRF Scientific Advisory Council (SAC), and Lisa B. Baird were recently elected to the Board of Directors. Mr. Richards and Dr. Rosenbaum were elected at the 10/26/11 board meeting and Ms. Baird was elected at the following meeting held on 1/26/12. “These accomplished individuals have a focused commitment to advance our research mission. I am thrilled each of them has agreed to join our leadership team in serving the CP community”, stated CPIRF CEO and President, Glenn R. Tringali.

Rosenbaum is Professor of Paediatrics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada; Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disability and Co-Founder of the Can Child Centre for Childhood Disability Research. Lisa B. Baird is a Managing Director at Russell Reynolds Associates, the global executive search firm and is based at the firm’s Stamford, CT and NYC offices.


Most treatments for cerebral palsy (CP) are initially directed toward children. What is not clearly established is the long- term effects of such treatments.
